We are visitors here, walking the narrow space between the depth of our history and the impermanence of each precious moment. To live more fully in this life we must inherit a deeper attention to what is, including our inner world.
Counselling is about pausing for a moment, inhaling, and uncovering where and who we really are. Together we will work to honor the life you have been given and level the ground in approach for the next chapter to unfold.
Using emotions and perception we will explore your orientation to the world. Using meaning and intention we will find what really matters along the way and build a future that holds more potential, creativity and wholeness.
Holistic Counselling: Drawing from various traditions including Buddhist and existential psychology, issues and problems are approached through a compassionate lens. Bringing attention and care to our history, we learn to live inside of our life while holding a bigger vision of who we can be. I offer a parts work model that helps us understand the many faces of who we are while also drawing them back into relationship with each other.
Somatic Approach: The immediacy of our bodies holds an inherent wisdom and is the seat of our connection to the external world. Somatic awareness helps us stay present to ourselves and the other. Together we can explore body awareness exercises, somatic tracking and meditations to calm the nervous system.
Emotional Literacy: Learn to live with, rather than from our emotions. Our emotions offer us direction for our passion, integrity and agency. As we build a relationship with our difficulties we unlock more potential for presence. In learning how to live with and tolerate our more difficult emotion we will also lengthen our ability to tolerate a sense of ease.

“God speaks to each of us as he makes us, then walks with us silently out of the night.
These are the words we dimly hear:
You, sent out beyond your recall, go to the limits of your longing.
Embody me. Flare up like a flame and make big shadows I can move in.
Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going.
No feeling is final. Don’t let yourself lose me.
Nearby is the country they call life.
You will know it by its seriousness.
Give me your hand.”
